A 914mm PPGI coil—what width of strips is it suitable for slitting into?

When actually setting up the cutting layout, the effective width is generally calculated at around 900mm, leaving allowances for trim and edge wire on both sides. Common strip widths typically range from 20mm to 900mm, with specifications such as 50mm, 100mm, 150mm, 300mm, and 450mm being more common and easier to arrange.

Below are the layout methods we commonly use in our workshop (for strips of the same width); customers can refer to them directly:

• 400 mm × 2 + 100 mm × 1 = 900 mm
• 350 mm × 2 + 200 mm × 1 = 900 mm
• 250 mm × 3 + 150 mm × 1 = 900 mm
• 200 mm × 4 + 100 mm × 1 = 900 mm
• 120mm × 7 + 60mm × 1 = 900mm
• 80mm × 11 + 20mm × 1 = 900mm

The advantage of this layout is that it minimizes edge waste and maximizes material utilization. If customers require multiple widths simultaneously, we will first calculate the optimal blade arrangement for you before providing a quote. This is because we base our recommendations on how to minimize material waste, achieve better edge quality, and ensure smoother subsequent leveling and profiling processes.

Q: Will there be any waste from edge trimmings after slitting?

There will be a small amount of edge trimmings, but the advantage of the 914mm width is that many specifications can be laid out neatly. We can optimize the cutting layout based on your width combinations to minimize edge trimmings as much as possible.

Q: Can the coils be flattened directly?

Yes. 914mm coils can be flattened directly into 914mm flat sheets, or they can be longitudinally slit into wide strips before flattening.

Q: Can you produce PPGI profiled sheets?

Yes. We have profiling equipment capable of processing various types of PPGI corrugated steel sheets.

Q: Can colors and coatings be customized?

Yes. Colors can be customized according to the RAL color chart or your samples. Common coatings such as PE, HDPE, and PVDF can be selected based on the intended application and usage environment (please contact us for coating recommendations).

Q: What is the minimum order quantity?

This depends on the specifications, color, thickness, and processing method. Generally, the minimum order quantity is 10 metric tons per specification. We will schedule production based on the order and do our best to lower the barrier to placing trial orders for our customers.
